Description
A metabolite of dehydrolithocholic acid; increases the association of Nr4a1 to the Foxp3 gene locus in isolated mouse CD4+ T cells at 20 µM; induces differentiation of isolated mouse T cells into Tregs and the production of mitochondrial ROS in isolated mouse CD4+ T cells at 20 µM; reduces hepatic bile flow and bile salt, cholesterol, and phospholipid secretion, as well as induces loss of microvilli and dilation of canaliculi in hepatocytes in rats at 6 mg/kg; fecal levels are reduced in patients with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
