An antidepressant; selectively inhibits norepinephrine uptake over 5-HT uptake in rat hypothalamic synaptosomes (IC50s = 0.9 and >100 µM, respectively); decreases immobility time in the forced swim test in mice at 8 and 16 mg/kg
