Description
A diterpene alkaloid with diverse biological activities; an antagonist of the GABAA receptor (IC50 = 7.06 µM in rat brain membranes); reduces the viability and migration of, and induces apoptosis in, SKOV3 and A2780 epithelial ovarian cancer cells at 20-80 µM; reduces tumor growth in a SKOV3 mouse xenograft model at 0.25 and 2.5 mg/kg; prevents and inhibits paw edema in a mouse model of carrageenan-induced inflammation at 0.025 mg/kg; has antinociceptive activity in the early phase of the formalin test in mice at 46.4 mg/kg
