Description
A triterpenoid saponin with diverse biological activities; an antagonist of TRPA1; inhibits calcium flux induced by polygodial or allyl isothiocyanate in HEK293 cells expressing human TRPA1 at 0.5 to 1.5 µM; inhibits HCV viral entry into, but not replication in, Huh7.5 cells (EC50 = 16.13 µM;) (CC50 = 740.4 µM); protects SH-SY5Y cells from hydrogen peroxide-induced cell death at 50 µg/ml
