Description
A polyphenol with diverse biological activities; an inhibitor of α-glucosidase and α amylase (IC50s = 16.4 and 40.9 µg/ml, respectively); induces apoptosis in COLO 205 cells (IC50 = ~42 µM); inhibits LPS-induced PGE2 production, as well as reduces LPS-induced NF-κB, iNOS, and COX-2 activity, in RAW 264.7 macrophages at 2.5 and 5 µM; has antinociceptive, antidepressant-like, and anxiolytic-like activity in mice at 30-100 mg/kg, respectively
