An inhibitor of CHIT1 and CHIA (IC50s = 23 and 9 nM, respectively); selective for CHIT1 and CHIA over a panel of 98 enzymes at 10 µM; reduces the degree of lung fibrosis and plasma chitinolytic activity in a mouse model of bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis at 30 and 100 mg/kg
