Description
A histamine H1 receptor antagonist and active metabolite of astemizole (IC50 = 4.1 nM); inhibits currents in a whole-cell patch-clamp assay using HEK293 cells expressing hERG (IC50 = 27.7 nM); prevents IL-1β-induced increases in the levels of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in HUVECs at 100 µM; inhibits passive cutaneous anaphylaxis induced by OVA or the histamine, but not by bradykinin, in guinea pigs at 1 mg/kg; inhibits eosinophil infiltration into the lungs of mice in a mouse model of OVA-induced asthma at 1 mg/kg
