A cell-permeable, broad-spectrum inhibitor of MMPs; blocks the activity of MMP-8, -9, -12, -13, and -20 with Ki values of 9, 2.6, 4.3, 3.1, and 17 nM, respectively; also inhibits MMP-1, -3, -7, and -10 with Ki values of 0.17, 0.13, 13, and 0.1 µM, respectively
