Description
A P2X7 receptor antagonist (IC50 = 3.2 nM for the human receptor); inhibits LPS- and BzATP-induced increases in ROS levels in THP-1 macrophages at 1 µM; decreases the accumulation of misfolded tau aggregates in the brain and improves learning and memory in the Y-maze and contextual fear conditioning tests in human P301S tau transgenic mice at 20 mg/kg twice per day; reverses mechanical allodynia in a rat model of chronic constriction injury-induced allodynia at 20 mg/kg
