A selective inhibitor of PARP1 (IC50 = 44.67 nM for human recombinant PARP); selective for PARP1 over PARP2 (IC50 = 4,168 nM); inhibits hydrogen peroxide-activated PARP in A549 human lung epithelial, C4I human cervical, and H9c2 rat cardiac myoblast cells (IC50s = 229.09, 1,778.28, and 123.03 nM, respectively)
