Description
A dithiolthione with diverse biological activities; selectively binds to α-ARs over β-ARs and mAChRs in isolated rat parotid acini (IC50s = 16.7, >100, and >100 µM, respectively); enhances saliva secretion induced by pilocarpine or electrical stimulation of the parasympathetic nerve in rats; reduces tumor incidence and multiplicity in a rat model of azoxymethane-induced colon adenocarcinoma at 100 and 200 ppm in the diet; prevents decreases in hepatic GSH levels and decreases mortality in mouse models of acetaminophen- or carbon tetrachloride-induced hepatotoxicity at 500 mg/kg
