Description
A CPT1 inhibitor and prodrug form of (+)-etomoxir; decreases palmitate oxidation and increases glucose oxidation in isolated rat myocytes in a concentration-dependent manner; reduces mitochondrial oxygen consumption rates and increases free fatty acid levels in LoVo cells at 40 µM; inhibits kidney tubule necrosis and dilation and reduces BUN and serum creatinine levels in a mouse model of acute kidney damage induced by ischemia and reperfusion at 25 mg/kg for five days
